Frequently Asked Questions
How does the color analysis work?
PaletteMatch uses advanced AI to analyze your photos and determine your seasonal color palette. Our Discover feature analyzes your natural coloring to identify which of the 12 seasonal palettes suits you best. The Match feature then instantly tells you whether any clothing item complements your palette.
What's the difference between Match and Discover?
Discover helps you find your seasonal color palette by analyzing your natural features (face photo). Match lets you snap any clothing item to see if it works with your palette. Think of Discover as finding out who you are color-wise, and Match as your daily shopping companion.
What photos should I take for the best results?
For Discover: Take a clear selfie in natural daylight without makeup if possible. For Match: Photograph clothing items in good lighting, avoiding harsh shadows. The clearer the colors in your photo, the more accurate the analysis.
Are my photos stored or shared?
No, your photos are processed and immediately deleted from our servers. We never store, share, or use your photos for any other purpose. Your privacy is our top priority.
What are the 12 seasonal color palettes?
The system includes 12 palettes based on temperature (warm/cool), value (light/dark), and chroma (soft/bright): Deep Winter, True Winter, Bright Winter, Light Summer, True Summer, Soft Summer, Light Spring, True Spring, Bright Spring, Deep Autumn, True Autumn, and Soft Autumn.
The app says a color doesn't suit me, but I love wearing it. What should I do?
Fashion is personal! Our recommendations are based on color theory, but confidence is the best accessory. If you love a color, you might try wearing it as an accent piece, in accessories, or simply rock it with confidence!
Can I change my seasonal palette?
Yes! You can update your palette anytime in the Profile section. You can either re-do the Discover analysis or manually select a different palette if you know your season.
Why do I sometimes get different results for similar colors?
Subtle differences in undertones, saturation, and brightness can affect how a color works with your palette. What looks like "just blue" might actually be a warm or cool blue, which makes a difference!
Is the app free to use?
Yes! PaletteMatch is currently free to use with all features included. We may introduce premium features in the future, but core functionality will always remain free.
The app isn't working properly. What should I do?
Try closing and reopening the app first. Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store. If issues persist, email us at palettematchapp@gmail.com with your device type and a description of the problem.
